The 2017 Marching Arabiansstarted their competition season on Saturday September 9th with a performance at Columbus North High School. The Marching Arabians came away with a 2nd place finish, and winning the Color Guard, Visual, General Effect and Percussion Captions for their class.
This Saturday, we head off for a double competition, as we will be performing at both the Brownsburg Contest and the Lawrence Central Contest. Our first performance, at Brownsburg High School, will be at 2:00pm and our second performance, at Lawrence Central High School, will be at 7:24pm. Both contests will be using the ISSMA contest criteria, and this will give us true insight, as to where we line up with this years competition.
On Saturday students will be required to report to the high school for a rehearsal beginning at 8:00am, and will return from the competition at 10:30pm. Because of the long day, we will be providing a sack lunch for the students, however it is asked that students bring money for dinner, as we will be stopping at a fastfood area in between the competitions. Students WILL NOT be allowed to leave the high school after the rehearsal, before we leave for the competition, we have had problems with this in the past, so please make sure you and your student understand this policy. All students who sold cookie dough during our 59 minute fundraiser can expect the orders to arrive next week. Tentativly the orders should arrive on Sept. 6th. Please make all necessary arrangements to pick up the order the day it arrives as we do not have a big holding area to keep all of the orders. This fundraiser was a huge success and we would hate for your customers to not get their cookie dough orders in a timely manner. Thank you for your cooperation.
A HUGE update for us here at the Pendleton Band Department is the new ability to be able to take Online Payments! If you take a look at the upper right hand corner of every page on the new website design, you will see a button for onliine payments. By clicking this button you will be taken to the Popmoney website. From there all you need to do is register with the website, and then fill out the form, being sure to put email@example.com as the email address you'd like to send money to. All amounts must be under $500, so if you wish to pay more than that, just be sure to send it in two different transactions. And that's all there is to it! Now with online payments you no longer have to worry about sending in money with your students and hoping they don't forget to turn it in!
