Authored by: Kelly Hughes – Marching Band Coordinator – phbandmarching@gmail.com

Hello Marching Band Family,

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE MARCHING ARABIANS ON A GOLD PERFORMANCE AT REGIONALS!!!

We are so proud of you and excited to see you perform at Semi-State!

Here are a few reminders and a list of some of the things we have coming up:

  • Be sure to check out the action photos by Tracy Oler:

PHHS Marching Band at Homestead

  • BATTLE OF THE CLASSES!
    • We have a very generous marching band parent who is going to match each class donation up to $600 for 1 WEEK like last year. This contest will run for 1 week per class and you can donate by Venmo, cash on Thursday nights or any time Kelly Ploughe will be at the school.

This is a FANTASTIC way to raise money for our band program. EVERY SINGLE PENNY raised goes back to the marching band season for props, food, extras needed for ALL the students. The money from this fundraiser only goes to items that are used for the whole band.

So far the JUNIOR class is in the lead! Sophomores, what do you say?? This is YOUR week!

Weeks:

An Extra Special Thank You To:

  • Rachel Blosser for all of the wonderful pre-game Friday night dinners.
  • Wayne and Rachel Blosser for creating and organizing the gifts for the seniors on Senior Night.
  • Katie Wade for nearly single handedly planning Senior Night after the other team leads were stranded in Florida. Also, a shout out to Kristin Wallen and Kelly Ploughe for still trying to help from their hotel in the middle of a hurricane.
  • Heather Tannas for EVERYTHING she does!
  • Tracy Oler and Teresa Jones for keeping us fully stocked with amazing photos and for their contributions to senior buttons and Senior Night photos!
  • The Walkers for organizing sock donations for this week’s Spirit item. We appreciate you!
  • ALL of the volunteers that made this week go more smoothly.
  • As always, a very big thank you to our transportation, food, uniform, spirit, bus, pit and props teams for all you do!

We appreciate all of your hard work and your time donated to the band!

It takes the help of many, many family members and friends to successfully put on each performance. With teams for props, food, bus chaperones, pit crew, spirit team & transportation (just to name a few) there is a place for everyone to pitch in and be involved. Thank you for all you do to help our students and the band program. Please make sure you get those background check forms completed and sent to phbandvol@gmail.com.  As always, we can’t do this without your help. 😊
