Another week of practices down and we are one week closer to competition season! The Kings Island trip was a success – THANK YOU to those that chaperoned the trip and helped make it a success.

Aug. 9th – Show Shirts If you would like a show shirt or hoodie to wear during competitions and cheer on our students, we’ve got you covered! Show shirts can be ordered by clicking here. (All marching band students will receive a free t-shirt.) All orders from last year must be paid before placing an order for this year. Money is due at the time of ordering.
Aug. 16th – Community Preview/Senior Speeches – We anticipate the Community Preview will begin at 7pm with the Senior Speeches immediately following. This will be a fun night!
Aug. 22nd – FIRST HOME FOOTBALL GAME The Marching Arabians will perform on the field before the game and during half-time and also throughout the game from the bleachers. Students will have practice at 2:50pm on the Fridays before home football games. They will break for dinner (provided) and then dress for the performance. Students are then dismissed after the game is over.
Aug. 24th – Music In The Park. The Marching Arabian instrumentalists will be performing at Falls Park on Sunday evening at 6pm. More information coming soon.

BAND CALENDAR The best way to stay up to date on Marching Band events is to check the calendar often! The online calendar is updated regularly and can be found here.
UNIFORM INFO (for instrumentalists):
- Please click here to place orders for gloves, marching shoes and garment bags. All orders and payments are due by August 8th.
- All new instrumentalists need to order shoes and garment bags using the online form. There are not shoe samples available to try on.
- All brass and woodwinds need to have 2 pairs of black gloves. This for is all new marchers and any returning marchers who can’t find theirs. Please click here to check sizes if you tried on gloves last week – if you need to try on gloves please contact Nicole Walker (phbandmarching@gmail.com)
- Guard is also ordering garment bags this year! It is optional for older members and encouraged for younger members.
- To purchase on your own—all instrumentalists will need to have long black socks, 1-2 close fitting light-colored shirts/tank tops, and 1-2 close fitting shorts (like compression). For new families—the instrumentalists put their uniforms on in the parking lot, so the students need to have a base layer of shirt/tank top and shorts to wear under the uniforms
- We have new bibbers (pants) this year that are cut more narrowly than the traditional ones—they are also stretchier. The goal is for the base layer not to be visible under the bibbers. *If you have any questions about uniforms, please contact Heather Tannas (htannas@smcsc.com; 765-617-9804).
