Congratulations to the Marching Arabians for their AMAZING performance at the Northwestern Invitational on Saturday! We are so proud of you and LOVE watching your show come to life!
And a HUGE THANK YOU to our INCREDIBLE prop team for all their hard work getting the front screens and silhouettes on the field. The hours of planning, building and detail work you have all committed have made such a tremendous difference and we are so grateful!
Coming Up:
- All background check forms on file expired at the end of July. Please click hereto complete another background form. Please email your completed form to phbandvol@gmail.com
- September 21st – Prop Build The prop team will have a work day to continue working on the silhouettes at 5:30pm. If you would like to lend a hand they will be at 4200 700W in Lapel.
- September 22nd and September 23rd – Band Photos. We will be having band photos taken of all marchers during practice on Tuesday and after practice on Wednesday this week in the band room. Marchers will move quickly from practice to the band trailer to put on their uniform and then come to the band room with their instrument to be photographed – once their photos are complete they will return their uniform to the trailer and return to practice. **If any marcher is unable to stay after practice on Wednesday please let me know and I will make sure your photos are taken on Tuesday**
- Please click here for an order form. **All orders must be submitted by end of the day on Friday 9/25**
- 2027 Seniors Only – if you marched in traditional uniforms for the 2023 season you have the option to be photographed in your traditional uniform. This option is available to these students only – all other marchers will be photographed in their 2026 show uniforms only. Seniors also have photo options available including Senior Banners and Collages – please see the order form.
- September 24th – Beats & Treats. It has been so amazing to see so many parents at practice on Thursday evenings – KEEP IT UP! We’ll be there every Thursday 7:30-8:30pm. Bring a lawn chair and sit at the band lot or come into the stadium and grab a seat!! Join Us and witness the unbelievable work the band puts into their show and make some new friends!
- September 25th – Football Game/Homecoming The Marching Arabians will participate in the Homecoming Parade through town as well as before and during the game. Click here to volunteer.
In Other News:
- Water Donations As you can imagine, the band goes through an immense amount of bottled water throughout the season. We offer water to the band at all meals as well as in the stands at football games. If you would like to help stock our booster closet water supply we would greatly appreciate your support. Any cases of water can be dropped off at the booster closet at the end of practice on Thursday.
- Social Media With the season in full swing we want to remind you to please not share any video or audio recordings of the show on any social media platform. If you have already shared, we kindly ask you to remove any recordings of music or drill – this is very important. The reason behind this is the band pays for the right to perform the music composer’s work and the rights to that music are pretty narrow – they only apply to public performances of the Marching Arabians. If a social media video was found the band could be found financially liable for penalties. ISSMA not only frowns on posting videos online but we also want the judges at competitions to judge solely on the performance before them not on a video they have come across.
- We welcome you to take videos for your personal use and to post as many still photos as you wish! We are all so proud of these kids and their performances!
- Band Calendar The best way to stay up to date on Marching Band events is to check the calendar often! The online calendar is updated regularly and can be found here
- Amazon Wish List Marching Band takes a Village and LOTS of supplies! The PHHS Band Boosters have put together an Amazon Wish List to help stock our booster closet with the everyday items needed to support the band. - Tracy Haynes and our transportation team for making sure our props/instruments arrived at the right place and the right time.
We appreciate all of your hard work and your time donated to the band!
It takes the help of many, MANY family members and friends to successfully put on each performance. With teams for props, food, bus chaperones, pit crew, spirit team & transportation (just to name a few) there is a place for everyone to pitch in and be involved. Thank you for all you do to help our students and the band program.
